The Kameoka Boarding Area is the starting point for your 16-kilometer journey down the Hozugawa River.
All boat rides begin here in Kameoka before heading toward Arashiyama. Visitors arrive to purchase tickets, collect life jackets, and board the flat-bottomed wooden boats.
You can access this area easily by taking the JR Sagano Line to JR Kameoka Station or riding the Sagano Romantic Train to Torokko Kameoka Station.

These stone wall remains belonged to a 16th-century castle built by Akechi Mitsuhide. The site is a quick 10-minute walk from JR Kameoka Station. It offers a quiet stop if you have extra time before your boat departs.

This is the final stop for the popular Sagano Scenic Railway. The station sits in a quiet countryside setting outside central Kyoto. From here, you can take a fast bus ride directly to the boat boarding area.
